The significance of electrical transformers in your daily life
Electricity has happened to be the most important part of our daily life and without electricity we cannot imagine a life today. The majority of our house electrical devices work on electric current. We face a range of power troubles because of voltage fluctuations. At times the house appliances breakdown is caused by voltage problems. The way out for all these problems can be set right only through a transformer.
Power transformers are an electrical device that is utilized to modify an alternating current voltage commencing from one electric circuit to an additional all the way through electromagnetic induction. These transformers are engaged in a variety of mechanisms to decrease the incoming voltage or raising the voltage of electrical tools. These transformers contain two or additional windings wound on a plastic-coated iron core and the amount of windings is base on the necessity of electric voltage that the transformer is use to provide.
There are a lot of variety in transformers like isolation transformer, fly back transformer power transformers, electrical transformer, current transformer, electronic transformer, step-up and step-down transformers etc. Each one in this type has properties and handling in transfer voltage based on the piece of equipment it is attached with.
Electric transformer is a device that is brought up to work for either rising or lessening the voltage of alternating current These transformers have two sets of coils which is named as primary and secondary coils which is connected to the magnetic fields that work as conductors. This number of windings found is defined as the functioning of the transformer. There are a variety of forms available in electrical transformers similar to step up transformers to lift up voltage or step-down transformer to lessen the voltage intensity that can be utilized in house appliances to control current supply and lessen electricity bill expenses.
Current transformers are use to get a hold secondary or further added current to generate current from the transformer and this lend a hand out to the customers to obtain sufficient amount of current for a range of applications similar to metering and protective transmit in electrical power industry to acquire secure the amount of currents even from high voltages. Audio transformers are intended with epoxy resin that makes all the possible step up in sound qualities by taking away the troubling audio signals that is taken from other devices. Flyback transformers are able to adapt the input voltage and power to the predictable productivity voltage and power and these are also obtainable in a different range of models and size.
Electrical switches are the electrical gears that are utilized to prevent the electricity flow by cut short the current or distract it from a conductor to another. These electrical switches are offered for medium current, low down current and high current piece of equipment.

How i can choose the Best Current Transformer?
My power transformer (2250KVA, 22KV/690V) full load current is 1883A @ 690V & 59A @ 22KV. In this condition my transformer current @ 690V will go upto 1661A. In this condition what CT ratio should be used to get quality measurement? Weather we can use 50/5, 60/5 or 75/5? Give our answers with detailed explanation for your choice

Electrical power transformer test lab & OLTC problem? solve for me PLEZZssss...?
In our POWER TRANSFORMER TEST LAB --
A generator rated 700 kva & its full load current is around 940 A at 0.3 pf &
A testing transformer (with oltc) rated 750 KVA, 38250 - 856 / 415 VOLTS (Vol. ratio) , 11.3 - 500 / 1182.64 A (current ratio).
Now my question is that is it possible, with this generator (to supply the full load current of the testing transformer ) to test a new/ repair power transformer of 50 MVA 110 / 11 KV Transformer?
If so please explain how?
******How will be power factor of the 50 MVA Transformer while conducting the short circuit test? & how to find it?*******
one more ,
The testing transformer current flow will be from LV to HV side, but on its oltc it is marked as the direction of power flow from HV - LV as 100% and from LV to HV as 0%
What is actual difference between bi-directional & uni-direction of current flow in OLTC?

Transformer? Current in Primary Coil?
A step-down transformer (turns ratio = 1:8) is used with an electric train to reduce the voltage from the wall receptacle to a value needed to operate the train. When the train is running, the current in the secondary coil is 1.4 A. What is the current in the primary coil?

Transformer current limiting, leakage inductance and load impedance?
I have been trying to understand better how transformers can operate in dead short conditions, i.e. Neon Sign Transformers.
I have read that neon sign transformers have a leakage reactance which is 100% of the full load impedance.
Can someone explain this in a better way, as well as mathematically?
How do you calculate the load impedance of a dead short?
How do you calculate leakage inductance so it is 100% of full load impedance?
I'm just not understanding the statement, and how it is all calculated.
