How DC/AC Power Adapter Work

Everyone uses some kind of electronic gadget (Dell PA-12 AC Adapter 65W 19.5V 3.34A)while in their motor-home, SUV or car. You might listen to your MP3 player, check for directions on your global positioning system (GPS) or play a portable video game. But what if you want to use something a little more elaborate while you're on the open road? Maybe you want to make toast, watch an LCD TV, or perhaps even write an article on your laptop computer. These devices plug into regular wall outlets, not cigarette lighters. Making sure your electronic gear gets the juice it needs while on the road isn't a simple matter of finding the right adapter. You need a power inverter.

Power Adapter convert direct current (DC), the power that comes from a car battery, into alternating current (AC), the kind of power supplied to your home and the power larger electronics need to function. What kind of power adapter is the right one for the job? How do you install one? And how exactly does an adapter change the current from one form to another? In this article, we'll explore all the positives and negatives of DC to Ac Power adapter.

Old Video8 Sony Hnadycam (CCD-TR303) running from AC power?
I have inherited an old Video8 Sony Handycam CCD-TR303 video camera without any battery or AC Adaptor/Charger. There doesn't seem to be any AC input socket, just the battery attachment at the back of the camera. I can find batteries and chargers online, but nothing that seems to enable the camera to be run from AC power only. Does anyone have experience with this or a similar early Handycam? I doubt that you need to charge a battery and then run the camera from battery only until it runs out, then charge again, especially if you were playing tapes to capture on PC? Thanks

How to do a repair install...windows 7? I only have the recovery disk that came with the laptop?
I was using my laptop on AC Power with the batter removed. So i decided to do a system check using TuneUp Utilities 2012 (1-click maintenance) and it did lots of thing like registry cleaning...etc and finally it was defragmenting my hard drive. So, while this was going on the power went off and then i had to turn it on and see if everything was alright. Some files are messed up. I tried to repair some of them manually..like aero..etc ( i did sfc /scannow) But now i can't connect to the internet. I reinstalled my drivers and everything but nothing. Some installed programs have stopped functioning also. So my question is, is there anyway of repairing windows 7 without the DVD? Or is my only option to set it back to factory settings? Thanks! I don't want to do a full format. My computer works fine, it's not like it's infected with a virus or something. It's just that some system files are corrupted. I just wanted to know if there's a way of repairing it.

How do do these two things?
Hello all! I have kind of a two-in-one question here. Question I How do I figure out the model of my computer? What I would normally do is go to Start > Computer > Properties. After doing that I would normally see all the information about my computer that I need. This time, however, it seems that I can only view the following categories: Windows edition, rating, processor, installed memory (RAM), system type, Pen and Touch, computer name, full computer name, computer description, and workgroup. I have a Dell laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. How do I make my computer show what type of Dell I have? Question II How do I import media from my phone to my computer? I have a Samsung Conquer 4G running Gingerbread FC17 using Sprint. What I am trying to do is send a photograph I took to my teacher's email address from my computer, NOT FROM MY PHONE. What I would normally do is simply detach the USB cable from the device that plugs into an AC power plug, plug it into the USB drive of my computer (sometimes the screen automatically directs me to another screen that asks if I would like to enable Mass Storage Mode, sometimes it just says "USB connected" in the notification bar above) and I bring down the notifications, and I tap USB connected, and it brings me to the same screen I was talking about earlier in the question. I would tap "enable Mass Storage Mode" and wait a little bit, and wait for an autoplay window to show up on my computer, and look through the files, click and drag it onto my computer's hard drive, open my browser, go on my email, attach the file and send the email. That's just about what I would normally do. This time however, it does change the screen, but does not say anything about Mass Storage mode. The options are "USB tethering", "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot", and "Help". If you guys could try to figure something out, please leave an answer below. It would make my day. :) Question II is priority.

How do you know if you have a bad Motherboard?
Hi. I am new to the world of PC's and not as knowledgeable as I would like to be in them. I have an Asus G72GX notebook and all was fine. Now, the AC power is not working. For about a week prior to it being dead, I had to fidgit with the AC Plug for about 10 - 15 minutes before it managed to get a connection. I spoke to various computer repair facilities and they all suggested it was the DC Jack. I ordered a new DC Jack and had it replaced. Nothing. They repair center told me it was the motherboard and it would cost "X" amount to fix. I declined. After I picked up the notebook, I booted it up and everything was fine. It had enough juice to make it to the Windows 7 home page before dying to no power. Thoughts? Advice? Notes: Tried a different AC Power Supply on it and nothing. No clue what motherboard I have. I had the DC Jack replaced. That's the jack that is soldered onto the motherboard and has the AC Plug connected to. The other power supply I tested was for another Asus laptop

My new laptop charger is not working?
I have had my laptop for 5 years now and the charger broke. So I bought a new one, it was a Targus. It said it can be your second charger for any laptop. I plugged it in and my PC Dell computer says that the new AC Power adapter type cannot be determined. It also said please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter for best system operation. How do I get this to work?
